The creda cooked my Converse.

I have washed these many times successfully in the larger Kenmore Elite machines, but I must not have used such an aggressive cycle.

This is the end of the line for the Converse All stars.
Between the high temperature wash, the small cylinder and the high spin speed, these shoes really came apart at the seams and curled up like the shoes of the wicked witch of the west after the house fell on her in the land of Oz.

Ding, Dong the shoes are dead.

My F&P TL's Sports / Shoes cycle is warm/cold water, preset medium/low water level. A few mins of moderate agitation, 15 min soak, few more mins agitation, one or two deep rinses (don't recall), and 1000 RPM final spin. Works well thus far when I've used it.
 
Shame your converse's are dead :-(

How did you get one of those machines to work over there?

somehow them lyrics sum up my love for these machines.
How this machine made my year when we got it! I spent every opportunity to use and watch it on my days off etc.
I was 18 when we got it and i fell in love the minute I saw it installed. I didnt even know we were getting it! the Hoover previous just died and this was got in a flash whilst I was at work!

My mum had the original hotpoint Version of this machine 2002 -2006.
Its first 2 years were Abuse with a capaital A.
My Nan wasnt very well and Mum did her washing. It coped really well with all this DAILY

1 cycle B 95*c Whites + Prewash 6 days a week for my chef whites - perfection if I ever saw it with 200 ml Persil NB Powder.
2 x cycle D 60 Coloureds
1 x cycle E 40 cottons for the family laundry

then on my day or days if i was lucky! it did this weekly on top of the above.
cycle K woolens for jumpers
cycle G Acrylics for t shirts and the such
Cycle E for my jeans socks and boxers.

Never missed a beat and I think the last 2 years of it life it only died thru boredom going back to 6 washes a week.

The only machine shes ever had capable of perfection in all areas.

Reasonable wash times with great performance.
Good Rinsing on Super,
and a reasonable spin.
only gripe was they never quite made the famous Hotpoint Noise, same motor just sounded somewhat different in these.
dunno why. :-(

And her only (Real) Hotpoint machine to date!

Sorry it messed the ol converses up, did you put them on a 95*c wash?

Trainers (sneakers) i always wash on the 40 synthetics programme which will be Cycle G.

If they are particularly muddy wash them first on Pre Wash cycle A then swizz the Dial to G after its finished Prewash.

Any more advice onb how to get the best results in one of these drop me a line. more than happy to help!

my own fault

I of course take full responsibility for having chosen the wrong cycle...and I too was amused, really.

I'm just glad there was no damage to the washer, which I have used several times since, and makes me have the following reaction -

Cheerio & Pip Pip~..

For a video, I'd have to use my webcam which may be too much trouble for too low quality, but I may try one sunny day.
