I bought one before Thanksgiving, and I like it
I got the 2 quart round one, instead of the two 1 1/2 quart ovals or the three quart round. NONE of the other stores I looked at had a 2 quart slow cooker on their shelves. Not Target, not WallyWorld, ......... doesn't mean they don't carry smaller slow cookers in store, but they were not in stock the day I bought the Hook Up.
As a slow cooker, it is good, but I miss the auto shift on my 4 quart "Corningware" slow cooker. (Really Applica made.) It is highly unlikely that I will buy additional units. I entertain, but not often enough to warrant buying the others.
My major gripe is how much counter space it takes. The base unit (mostly plastic) is BIG.
I like steel cut/pinhead/Irish oatmeal for breakfast, but it takes forever with nearly constant stirring to cook on the stovetop, and the microwave does not save a lot of time. Using a slow cooker means that I can throw the oats and water together just before I go to bed, and wake up to perfectly cooked oats. 3/4 cup oats to 3 cups water.
So, my verdict is: It depends.
