2010 WCI. These were small but decent performers compared to the DOE restricted wash plate models that followed.

There are still thousands of these awful machines all over DC, but we make a lot of money working on them, the dryer gives a lot more trouble than the washer, but usually something goes wrong with the washer like the transmission or main bearings that does the whole thing in.
Major problems for the dryer are rear bearings heating elements. Door switches cracked blowers and front drum bearings.
Major problems for washers bad lid lock items caught in the water pump burned up belts, bad idler tension, pulley assemblies.
The full size whirlpool built top load stack was the gold standard in this area, they have service calls to of course, but they’re much much more satisfying to fix because you know it’s going to continue working for the customer for a long time.
