Monstrosity. My initial thought, too. It did give room for the burner controls to be away from the flames, but it was just too big. None of the style of Samantha's Flair. Given the blue flame conflagration under the lower oven, it probably did not have have a decent broiler anywhere. Sad. Probably a good room heater year round.

Is that "Carefree" that I see there?

On something that old, big and gas it's anything but...

Were all the model tag-line names that used up, that Care-Free was all that was left, that this lotta care (not the good kind) could be called?!

Continuous cleaning ovens were never really clean, but they could be set for a high temp cleaning at above normal cooking temperatures if things got really bad, but it was a manually initiated process that was done without food in the oven. The regular self-cleaning process was a slow procedure that happened "continuously" at normal oven cooking temperatures. These ovens in this stove show the erosion of the oven lining by the by products of combustion and the normal state of the continuous catalytic coating. Since it was a propane stove, I don't know if it could have pilot lights which also did a number on oven linings.
