Darren...

Firstly, Arcelik own both Beko and Blomberg which is why I have a lot of faith that the quality of Beko machines is improving.

BUT, I am about 85% certain that this machine is made in Turkey by Beko. It is, however, rebadged as a Blomberg machine and sold by Blomberg.

An easy way to tell if you can't find the label is to have a look at the plug. Fisher and Paykel buy Beko machines in and sell them as Fisher and Paykel, but if you look at the plugs (prong end) on the Australian delivered machines, they are made in Turkey.

I'd love to be wrong though. That would be a real case of the tail wagging the dog....

Any chance you can get a look at one to see?

I wonder if Mike knows?

When I had a look at the washers in Comet the other day, I had a little play around with this one and it felt so flimsy for what they charge.I really like the black Hotpoint washers though.

Just thinking, Miele should do a black washer too!

Thanks

The only thing I think that feels at all flimsy with the current Bekos (well the ones we get here) is the detergent drawer. The door, the dials' movement and all the buttons feel about right for a mid range machine....and certainly better than I remember Indesit, Service et.al.

....they compete here with Thai made Bosch and Zanilux's, LG, Samsung, Chinese made Whirlpool and lower end Ariston (which are sold at over inflated prices here...)
