Please post all of the washer/dryer/dishwasher picts in one thread (not creating six different threads like I'm now about to remove), all other appliances need to go into the super forum. You clearly did not choose the right selection for posting a new thread as there are two refrigerator threads posted in the Imperial forum.

Creating more than one thread within a few minutes where the subject topic is similar is generally not a good idea.

Sorry I only saw fit to photograph some of the control panel... I believe the dryer that went with it (or "A" dryer sat in the garage w/ a non-running Ford Falcon, among other nick-knacks)...

My mother had a dryer almost like your Whirpool until a few years ago. It was a Canadian Inglis (Whirlpool clone) with the same control panel from 1974. The only difference I see was the door which was full width and bottom hinged (and I think it was a large capacity model). The lid handles on both the washer (which failed in 1990) and the dryer said "HEAVY DUTY". This was the selling argument (along with price I guess!) for my father as the fancier "Royal" models with lighted consoles didn't have that mention on their handles! A few years ago, my mother gave it to me and I then gave it to my cousin who still has it in her basement (along with the Inglis direct drive regular capacity washer that replaced the 1974 washer).

I replaced a lot of parts on this dryer over the years! Many rollers, 3 belts, heating elements (twice), the temp sensor, wiring that burned near the elements... It's the first appliance I ever worked on when I was a kid! I wish parts would be as easy to find for my current Frigidaire appliances!

It looks like a few treasures were abandoned there. I am curious about the year of the washer. I am guessing late 60s/early 70s given that the RCA brand name is not present. A friend of mine had that dryer which I am guessing is from 1975 with the washer match to it, and that was an 18 pounder with the brush filter. If only there were another shot of the Kenmore dryer...I am intrigued by the console design.

Oddly enough, I just found an Inglis-branded dryer here in Montreal that would a fine match to that 60s Whirlpool washer!

If that Whirlpool washer is from the 1960's it is from 1968 or 69 because from 1956 to 1967 all Whirlpool appliances were known as RCA Whirlpool.....PAT COFFEY

"Feature Packed" (NOT?) Well, only TWO water levels but at least THREE cycles (Reg. Perm. Press & Delicate); Washes in Hot, Warm & Cold all w/ Cold Rinse...

GAS Dryer...! Most-everybody uses 'em...!

The dryer does have Automatic drying, but most likely w/ a thermostat rather than electronic sensor...

There was a time that a lot of people lived in this house so there may have been a matching washer & dryer, per the two you see, which might have worn out, hence these two had outlasted their "mates"...

There were also two upright freezers (one in coppertone) both by Admiral--at least I saw a white Admiral thrown out, but don't know where the coppertone one went... Replaced by a Self-Defrosting Sears Kenmore (not shown)...

As for "For Sale", well, I don't think the widowed owner really wants to get rid of anything--even her house...

If this dryer had an Electronic Sensor

It would be a little black bar with 2 metal strips visible at the 4 o'clock position on the bulkhead at the back of the dryer drum, since it clearly does not have the sensor bar that means it uses a thermostat in the exhaust system...PAT COFFEY

Yes, and I happen to have that on my 1990's Kenmore right at the lint trap intake duct...

I thought it was on the door frame at the "Ten-O-Clock" position, but that was actually the DRUM LIGHT! (Luckily I had a 15w bulb to change it with, too!)

Let me guess Dave

the lint trap in your 1990's Kenmore is right inside the door right? The position of the bulkhead sensor in all the dryers made with the lint trap on top have been at the 4 o'clock position since 1969. Prior to 1969 the sensor was a big metal pad that was located between the 5 o'clock and the 7 o'clock on the bulk head. Prior to 1966 when Kenmore and WP drums were all one piece the sensors were big metal strips that were in between the baffles of the drum. PAT COFFEY
