Not the dreck one sees today, but the really good vintage stuff.
One of the great joys of being home sick from school, and or on holiday was to watch soap operas with Mother, and later one's friends. Most every woman had her favourite "story" as they were LOYAL. Episodes would be endlessly rehased and discussed at card games, at the supermarket, the beauty parlor, college dorms and cafeterias, anyplace women (and some men)gathered.
My all time favourite was General Hospital, which probably helped steer me towards wishing to study nursing. Lovely Port Charles had everything anyone could want in a small town, including scandal! Mona Kane, Nurse Jessie, Bobbie Spencer, whoo hoo!
