For those who are interested, we just heard that our Bathroom redo will be broadcasted tomorrow night, Tuesday Jan 4 at 8pm Central, 9pm Eastern on HGTV. It will be repeated again on 1/8/05 at 2pm Central time, 3pm Eastern. I have absolutely no idea how this came out or exactly what footage they used. They did film us in the basement and the kitchen as well, I suspect they might a shot or two of the collection, but I don't know for sure.

Thanks for letting us know Robert!! I am really looking forward to seeing it. I have already got the VCR set!! Terry

Re: Decorating Cents - Home & Garden Network:

"WOW" Robert and Neil, what a difference in your Bathroom. I really like the rest of your house area's that they did show as well. I missed the first viewing of the show earlier tonight, but made sure I set the timer on my Satellite to remind me of the next viewing. It was on at 6:00pm {PST} and I saw it at 10:00pm {PST}, besides catching the shots of part of your Collection of Washer's, Dryer's and the WP/Combo, which "BTW" is the same Model Combo that one of my Aunt's and Uncle's had. I'm not sure of the Year that the WP/Combo was Manufactured, would you please let me know, as well as if you happen to know how many years that particular style was Manufactured. It was the first Combo that I saw how it Cleaned the Laundry, by using the Spray Shower, like my 1965 Lady-K does. Anyway, what a great idea using the Plexiglas pieces to hang so the Wind would catch them and shake them around. It sounds like the Guy's and the Woman {sorry, don't remember the names} were really impressed with your Collection too. The Shelves in the Closet, being clear and with the Light to view all the Shelves and what's stored on them, was a wonderful idea, besides co-ordinating the colors, especially from the Walls to the Window Panel's also matching perfectly. The Furry Cover's on the Tissue Box and the Waste Basket was a great touch and I love the choice of the Sink, although, unless I missed seeing the 3-Sinks, I would have liked to see all 3-Sink's to know what was being decided from the choices, of the one that was used.

Enjoy your lovely House and Bathroom and your Collection of the wonderful era's of Washer's, Dryer's and Kitchen Appliances that you've collected and Renovated to still be able to operate for your every-day use.

I think that they did such a great job at making your Bathroom look so much like what you've done to the rest of your house, color-wise and style-wise.

Peace, Happiness and Hug's, Steve

Fun to watch!

First of all I had forgotton that Joan Steffen had left KARE-11 TV (Minneapolis-Saint Paul, MN) to go to HGTV. So it was a double Minnesota connection like popping in our copy of "Fargo" or Norm Coleman/Kofi Annan for the truly astute. (Watching "Fargo" can cure a case of Minnesota homesickness just like that-cheeper than plane ticket too!)

Robert, I'm gonna turn off the tact and say what I really think. You can kick me off the board later. I love the colors the designer chose and the whole Modrian thing. The little plexiglas all over is inventive, but I think it may be tough to clean. I'm sure you'll let us know-or do you have a "domo"? The plexiglass window and lamp cover was so groovy! I really did not care for the shower curtain. I know the book he got the fur tissue cover- its called "Pad". I have it and it is a great book for cool decorating ideas. Dennis and I laughed to the point of tears thinking about how overdone that fake fur stuff was in the '70's and how it quickly uglies out and how it gets really oookie in a bathroom. Yeecch. So I would have pitched those out as soon as they all left.
I do love the sink that was chosen, but perhaps you could show *us* the other two? Overall, it was a huge improvement over the dull gray. I wasn't too wild about the mirrors on the ceiling. So Robert I hope you are not too ticked at me-Its just MY opinion

Oh and its not like my can is so swell either. I laughed about the plexiglass because it is a strange design element in my bathroom too. When we moved here the whole place was painted "Owl *scat* Yellow" and the bathroom had this horrid cheap rubber ducky border paper that needed to be quickly burned. When we took it down, across one wall above the door was a piece of red plexiglas built right into the wall. Its the strangest thing, We left it uncovered because I think its quirky and cool. We painted our bathroom green to contrast the weird red plexiglas.

A final thought-a place never seems like home to me until the water in the toilet bowl is blue.

Thanks Steve and David for you kind words. Actually as busy as we both are, we have a cleaning person come in once every two weeks, so yes its very easy to clean :)

As for the little plexiglas pieces they are a cinch to keep clean too, when they get really dirty I'll simply put them in the dishwasher!

Your House is SO cool!!!

Robert,
Any chance of you posting pics of the rest of the house? The part they showed on the show looks so cool, I'm sure the rest of the house is incredible.

Ralph the designer of the show Cy, is a friend of ours. They are always looking for different and far-out houses to film, so they asked if they could do a room in our house. They wanted to do the kitchen, but I want to do that ourselves, so we decided on the upstairs bathroom.

Jackson when I get a chance I will take and post pictures of our house, that is when I have a chance and its clean at the same time :)

Having seen and taped the repeat performance of this show, it was fun and I was very impressed! I am simply floored by the unending creativity. I have seen the woman on some show before, but not the guy. He seems so over the top and fun!

I'm going to take the tape to CA to share with friends.
