I understand cleaning the external areas that get buildup overtime but there should be no need to clean the portions of the basket or agitator that remain under water during the wash cycles. Those should be clean at all times without any effort. Also notice she has two knobs missing on the console, one for the pressure sensor and the other for temperature selections. Not sure if those were removed for the cleaning process or not but I hope she doesn't have the temperature permanently set to cold/cold at all times although judging by the tub/agitator it kind of looks like it.
"IMO hot/warm water, metal basket, spin draining and lots of detergents keeps a washer looking new the day it was installed."
That GE washer is probably is set to cold/cold most of the time, the inner tub looks like plastic (could be wrong), these machines neutral drain, and she's probably using cheap detergent.
