A couple days ago
I washed a huge load of my darks and colors; it consisted of T-shirts, sweatpants and underwear, along with my chef coat and aprons from work (I am a dishwasher at a private restaurant set within a country club). This load filled the drum about 3/4 of the way. I used a couple of CLEARALIF laundry detergent sheets, along with a small amount of OxiClean.
Once the washer was done, I was overall thrilled with the results. The food stains were completely gone from my work clothes. Oh yeah, and there was no more white, linty residue on the darks! The dryer took just under an hour to dry the load.
My old Frigidaire top-loader suffered from rather poor performance; with a full-to-the-top load of mixed items, the clothes just floated on top, and the agitator pulled them back and forth with no turnover whatsoever. Everything was just scrunched together and not fully submerged, which most likely contributed to that white gunk on darks. In addition, thin articles of clothing, such as workout clothes and pillowcases, would get "eaten" and stuck under the agitator; I would have to pull them up and out from under there after a cycle was complete. Lastly, the Frigidaire's auto-sensing water level system wouldn't fill with enough water when washing bulky items such as dog beds.
However, thanks to the GE front-loader's superior wash action, I feel very confident that my clothes are getting cleaner than they ever would in a top-loader. And, it's nice to know that my clothes won't get cooked in the dryer, thanks to the SensorDry system. Overall, this is a phenomenal laundry set.
