Denise the Menace -- Hotpoint Combo?

Hello Everyone,
I was watching an episode of Denise the Menace today. There was a scene where Denise fed Mr. Wilson (Gale Gordon) thinking he lost everything in the stock market and could not afford to eat. (Although he didn't and was on a diet, and didn't want his wife to know he was eating) Anyway....when he enters into the kitchen from the outside door, to his right the laundry room door is open. Mr. Wilson proceeds to close the door to the dinning room and you see a full view of a washer dryer combo. Does anyone know if this was a Hotpoint? Over the dials were the "upside down triangles" pointing to the dial points. I wish I would have had it recorded so I could have done a screen shot. It has driven me nuts all day!

I just figured out is was Season 4 Episode 5 entitled "Poor Mr. Wilson".

Hi Bob,
I so wish I could find the episode so I could do a screen grab. It was not a Bendix in this episode. Perhaps it will come on again and I can record it to my DVR or DVD.
I remember the Duomatic on Hazel. I have been watching these episodes also.
Denise the Menace and Hazel...I have been watching on the Antenna TV station.

That show should have been silent like the comic strip. Jay North's voice was singularly grating; another great argument for not having children. It's no wonder Mr. Wilson always looked like he needed an antacid.

Mr. Wilson..,

I always liked the original one better, can't remember his name.
For some reason he was replaced by Gale Gordon, maybe the first one died?

I thought maybe Dennis had gone for a sex change operation, and became Denise!

Always thought Dennis was kind of cute, and his voice didn't bother me. Haven't seen the show in many years, but it's on DVD now.

The original Mr. Wilson was played by Joseph Kearns. I think he either passed away or became seriously ill when he was replaced by Gale Gordon.

In the earlier episodes of Dennis The Menace you could vaguely see a Kenmore washer & dryer on the back porch/utility room through the kitchen door. Later episodes showed a Kenmore Combo fit into an alcove to the left of the kitchen door..at least that's what I think I've seen.

Joseph Kearns died in 1962 at age 55, he dieted himself to death.  Actually, according to Gloria Henry, he had taken to drinking Metrecal three times a day, in hopes of losing weight. He turned 55 on Feb. 12, '62 and died on Feb. 17, five days later of a cerebral hemmorage. I liked him.

I've seen all the episodes and have noticed three washers....there is also an episode dedicated to Dennis and the other children starting a laundry business. If you can tell me about the episode, I may be able to snag a picture.

If you can locate an FYE store, Barnes & Noble, BJs, some such place, try them for Dennis DVDs. I got the first year set at FYE. Otherwise, you can get them online, if you wish. By the way, on a Bachelor Father episode, when Bentley had leased his house out for six months, and couldn't break the lease when plans changed. Peter and Kelly were in the basement, making "smog" and blowing it through the ventilation system. There was what appeared to me at least, a 1930s Bendix automatic washer in the otherwise empty basement. Video available on YouTube.

Pretty creepy how the article that is linked to this thread cites how only Mr. Wilson "changed", while the rest of the cast is "unchanged", the same people, except for the one "different individual" while this may due to an underlying death of the actor of one character in the show, just simply hard for kids to deal with!

The show just worked in that "this Mr. Wilson" was "the former Mr. Wilson's", brother, while "Martha", the original "Mrs. Wilson", just becoming "Eloise" was simply a twin-sister of the former Mrs. Wilson & the oriiginal Wilson couple just going on a vacation, while brother & sister-in-law eternally house-sitting for them...

I especially like how one forum member conjectures "how Rod Serling should introduce each episode", as he likens this on-screen event to a sort of Twilight Zone-effect, while another member simply expresses how creepy "Mr. Wilson's brother is suddenly married to the sister-in-law"!!!!

Used to have a FYE store in my area-it closed.Do have a B&N bookstore-they don't have movies or CDs there-will see if they can order them.And will try Critics Choice-thanks for the coupon.
Metrical-My Mom used to use it when I was a kid--tried making some for myself-----YUUCHHH!!!!ended up pouring it down the drain.The stuff was like a mix that came in a can and you mixed it with milk.Went back to my Nestles Quick or Bosco.
