Hello, I Live in Sacramento CA, and I have been looking for the longest time a place that sells ARIEL BAJA ESPUMA (Low suds Mexican Detergent). If anyone knows of a place in the US that could ship the detergent (UPS-FEDEX) PLEASE, PLEASE let me know. Any information on, any local store in your city that sells the product would be greatly appreciated.

I bought some . . .

At Sack-N-Save in Fort Worth last time I was there. I'm not sure if they still sell it, but they have the last few times I've been there. I live 6 hours from the Metroplex, but will be happy to pick you up some next time I'm there. Until then, however, maybe someone in the DFW area could pick you up some and ship it? There are, I believe, 6 Sack-N-Saves in the DFW area.

Bryan, thanks so much for the lead. I will try contacting that store, to see posibilities in shipping. If you are planning a trip let me know. I could send you money via paypal, or a personal check to cover for the soap s&h.(I would love to get a few bags,as i recall it comes on small pckgs) I do greatly appreciate your help.

I have seen it (not recently, though)

at BigLots. Have you looked there, and similar places?

Also, how about a bodega? I would think there would be one or two around Sacramento?

I agree with Lawrence that it's likely lurking on a shelf somewhere in the greater Sacramento area. I would check out the deep discount stores such as Big Lots or maybe the 99 Cents Only stores, or the Mexican markets.

Local Ariel

LoveCakes, Ariel baja espuma (or "low suds", or HE) is sold and manufactured locally in three versions: Liquid, OxiAzul (OxyBlue) and Ariel con Suavizante (Ariel with Softner). Ariel OxiAzul is my daily driver for shirts and bed sheets (we are a 5 member family, about four full loads per week, in a Maytag TL). Wash results are astounding, but then I do let the cycle do a long 30 minute soak to help the detergent "bite" a little longer, plus I add a full TS of STPP (I might have spelled this wrong!).

I know that price wise this might sound absolutely silly, but would you like me to ship some samples to you? Or a couple of full 10 pound bags, for that matter? I would surely do it gladly!

This is the local Procter & Gamble web page with more information about Ariel powder. It is available in 400 g, 800 g and 3 kg packs, and 5 kg buckets (.88 lbs, 1.75 lbs, 6.6 lbs and 11 lbs respectively).

As I understand it, Ariel Bajaespuma has been available in southwestern US Mexican supermarkets. But I have yet to see it in the SF Bay Area. Since Sacramento is even further north, I doubt there is any "hiding" out on Sac store shelves either.

It may be moot, at this point, since I understand that the Mexican Ariel regular sold in the USA now is without phosphates. If so, then you'd be better off with Tide HE for a front loader. (Although currently I think Sears Ultra Plus HE with Oxyclean is a very good detergent).
