Our main detergent right now is Ariel w/ Oxianillos & Downy. It smells strong when the damp laundry is put in the dryer, but the majority of the scent disappears by the time the load is dry. Reformulated "non-phosphate" Viva to change things up once in awhile.[this post was last edited: 2/9/2011-11:55]

Sears Ultra Plus in the orange box also. I add Borox or Publix brand clhorine free bleach to colored clothes. I use Tide Free liquid with the gentle Clorox on whites. Downy Free fabric softener but occasionally I pick up the gallon pink store brand softners for nostalgia. Publix brands of detergents, bleach, and fabric softeners work very well and I pick them up sometimes when they are on sale. Publix is a grocery store chain here in the Southeast with their home in Florida.

WAAAY back in the late 80s, I think, John and Michael went to Australia. John brought me back a box of OMO Matic and one of the most beautifully designed stainless steel teakettles I have ever seen. I only used a bit of the OMO and saved the rest because it was unique and a present. I will have to take a look at it again.

Persils,Sears Ultra,Tide HE all powders and in that order.
Tide HE liquid Free & Gentle (on advise from comments made by Launderess in a past thread, and Thank You very much.) for stains or soaking.

Persil

Biological powder.

It's so nice now that Persil has been reformulated so that it is now on par with Ariel. You can chop and change between the two and get perfect results with either.

Daily Detergents

I am using Surf Cool Summer for Top Loaders (old fragrance) ,now is replaced woth Cool Lime & Mint as my daily suds.

For Whites its DRIVE Top Loader, its ripping strength keeps whites WHITE & smells great.

For sheets I use FAB Frangipanni for Top Loader nice smell & doiesnt make 'usband sneeze unlike Radiant... Its stinks and takes ages to rinse out

Only use fab softner on work shirts as it makes ironing heaps easier .. I use Woolworths Select Sunshine Fresh

I use the Blue Bold powder for whites and lights. Blue Bold liquid for darks and cold water washing. Woolite for delicates and Summer Breeze lenor fabric conditioner. Same as ever really!

Use Norwex for all of my laundry wash.

I just picked up a package of powered Tide HE for the bed sheets.. I miss the Tide scent, and will be used for my bed sheets only when I hang them on the line.. Really looking forward of using the clothes lines again! May be a couple of months. :-(

I use Sunlight liquid or powder (Lemon or Morning Fresh scents),Cheer powder, Surf liquid (Waterfresh Breeze) and liquid Woolite dark.

I use mexican Ariel powder for the bulk of the laundry. It's getting a little pricey but I will NEVER go back. I'll keep buying it until I can't anymore. It's been somewhat cheaper to get the 5 KG bags instead of the little 1 KG bags.

The only other detergent I have is some cheap cheap cheap SUN liquid. I use this for utility washing: cleaning rags, old towels, rugs, etc. and I use it on some delicate garments that Ariel would simply be too harsh on.
