Hi, I was wondering how many caps full of detergent you would use for a load in a commercial Dexter 40 pound washer. I always never know how much detergent to add to these machines when I go to the laundromat.
Depends on the detergent, if it is not high efficiency detergent, then somehwere around half of what you would normally use for a large load in a regular toploader so as not to cause oversudsing, if it is high efficiency detergent, I would use the normal dosage.
a regular top-loader is about 20 pounds or less. Multiply by two for a 40lb machine.
For a front loader use 1/4 or 1/5th of what a top-looader uses.
2.0 * 0.25 = 0.50 so half (or somewhat less) of what you would use in a 20 lb. top-loader. Many detergents still list dosage for this type and size of machine.
Detergent use should be proportional to water in wash cycle, not amount of clothing.
Half the normal amount. Got to be careful with Dexters, as they come from the factory with only 2 rinses. Very few owners add the 3rd rinse. In addition, if you over-suds, the suds will percolate out of the port on the top of the machine and create a real mess.
