Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

That place looks some nasty. I'd need to shower after running through a place like that.

I DREAM of places like this! The old biddies who never threw anything away, appliances and all. You have no idea the fun stuff you can find when digging around in that junk.

Hopefully someone here is able to save this set. Turquoise always sparks an interest ;-)

Ben

Ben, I agree sales like that are so much fun and you just never know what is hiding in some box. There is just something about Turquoise that makes you feel good. Wish that was a color they would bring back.

Got to love the washer and dryer but...

That is a 1967 Dodge Polara Station Wagon!! (I'm pretty sure) Reminds me of my parents 1967 Plymouth Fury III Station Wagon.

That is most definitely a 1964 Model 70 Kenmore set. It is hard to see them, but from the few console features I am able to view, that must be what they are. The Model 600s would be my second guess, except (and I could be wrong about this) I believe that in 1964 as well as 1965 the 600 models offered were continuations of the 1963 600 series. The consoles on them look almost identical to those of the 1963 Model 70, and consoles of both models look noticeably different from the set pictured here. The flat handle on the dryer is also an indicator of their vintage. The last year that the flat handle appeared was on MOL to BOL models in the 1965 lineup. This would include the 1965 Model 70, but that console had different coloring than the ones of this set; ruling it out as a possibility.

Gordon it does look like the 64 70 that you have in your storage unit. There was a set like this featured in the movie "The Birdcage" with Robin Williams. I hope somebody grabs them.

Have a good one,
James

Thanks Jamman_98

I recognized that big ole wagon as a chrysler product. Looks to be garage kept, and really taken care of, no rust from road salt. nice furniture, and check out the lamp on the table with the dolls. now i wish i could go with you.

66 wagon

I am drooling - Somebody has to go buy that wagon !
I Can't ever find cool classic wagons like that around my area.

'66 Chrysler wagon

That's a '66 Chrysler Town & Country wagon - a real land yacht! I hope someone gets that who will appreciate it. It even has a tilt/telescope steering wheel!

Went there this morning. They want $50 for the pair, the washer needs some rust repair, but still works fine. They are asking 2K for the '66 wagon. It's loaded with many options including the 440 TNT motor!
I picked up a '65 Zenith tv in mint cond for $10 as that is about all my budget will allow at this time..

There's an interesting look stove in picture 6 all covered up, anyone know what it is? not that I need a a stove.

I may just go for a look but most of the stuff looks sort of trashy and not what I'd be interested in.

Kenmore set in D-Town....

Dwight,

Does this mean that you got the set???

I really hope that someone saves it before it ends up downriver buried in one of the nasty lanfills that dot the lanscape from Detroit to Fermi.

Fermi= nuclear power station....

Chad

No, did'nt buy the set. I purchased a mint '63 Maytag set a couple of weeks earlier and have no room.
The stove in the kitchen was an Westinghouse I believe, but not for sale.
I have a friend nearby that will purchase the Kenmores if no one rescues them.
And yes, most items in the house were a little nasty, but luckily, a few items such as the tv I purchased were mint still.
