I'm sure a lot was nasty, but you can clean/fix up nasty.

I remember one time coming home with an old typing table I got for a dollar. My roommate's girlfriend asked if I was on the way to the junkyard with it. It looked bad, just, dirt, etc.

A good cleaning, sanding, and painting. It looked brand new. I still use it in my house.

I just love a project, but that's me. I do agree that you do need a shower when you leave a place like that, however sometimes there are treasures to be found (as the Zenith, Chrysler, and Kenmore's show).

'66 Chrysler wagon went to a good home

Just a quick update:

The '66 Chrysler wagon went to a good home. A collector specializing in old full size Chrysler products bought it and it will be fully restored. I found this out on a classic Chrysler web site when I put a post there to tell people about the car. I was relieved that it didn't end up in a demolition derby or separated from its 440 engine and scrapped like so many others have been.
