What would really make it quick is if you could do an overflow rinse in the second tub. (I supposed you could, but it would be really messy.)

I love the look of the Dexter Quick Tub. A couple of questions.
It looks to be avocado, so maybe that old.
When this washer was new, how expensive would it be? Would it be close to the price of an automatic?
Who would be buying a double machine? A really big family? A spolied house wife? Was this washer used commercially? like for an establishment that had a lot of linens?

My mother used one of these from around 1950 until about 1968, when one of the tubs started to finally leak. I hated to see it go, but it was replaced by a Whirlpool automatic. She would still use the Dexter on occasion, though.

Dexter-Philco
This Dexter is essentially the same machine as the Philco model mentioned in thread #28392. I'd say they were both made in Dexter's Fairfield, IA plant. Today, Dexter only manufactures commercial laundry equipment. Their FL washers are the successors to the Philco-Bendix line.

Depending on your method and preference in conventional (wringer) washing, and believe me, there are a dozen of them, the Twin Tub Dexter and the beautiful Philco from the other day negated the need for rinse tubs. You could wash in one tub and rinse in the other, among many more possibilities. Just imagine.... : >
