Diet Soda

Recent tests show that aspartame acts just like tylenol in pain relief and management. I drink a ton of diet soda and now I know why. Phosphoric acid, when combined with sugar and carbonation can leach calcium from the bones. Another reason to drink sugar free and caffiene free cola.

Can't do Jack Daniels anymore. Had far too many on a church ski trip. Initially it was to take the edge off to be able to (OMG) shag a young lady. It didn't help. I still can't remember two days of my life. I mean COME ON! I was expected to put it WHERE? OH NO NO NO NO. Those things have teeth. I don't do Jack no' mo!

Rum is now my preferred posion, with an occasional Vodka. It's beer if I'm trying to be rugged (doesn't help any, BTW.) Apparently, the way the bottle hits my lips doesn't reek macho *MAN*.

I'd be more worried about the brominated vegetable oil in cloudy soft drinks like Mountain Dew than the artificial sweeteners. Brominated vegetable oil is not natural, and being a lipid it stays in the body's fat tissues for a very long time. Ew.

If you must drink a soft drink, choose a clear one.

Liquior in the front and poker in the rear.

Want to get drunk quicker?

Add ice.
(Water helps pull liquor through/get absorbed faster).

Use a straw.
(IIRC the alcohol settles to the bottom).

Want to tell if a drink is alcoholic?
The ice cubes sink.
In a soft-drink they float
(Hope I didnt get that backwards).

i also can easily drink two liters of diet Pepsi a day. i had no idea of its anti-pain (?) properties. its an addiction. ive tried to cut back in the past but have returned. throw in some plain or coconut or vanilla rum....

Heavy Drinker

Brett,
I usually drink three 2 liter bottles of caffeine free, sugar free cola every day. I keep it warm and pour it over ice so it will melt and give me lots of water. I have done some research, after getting so much crap for drinking nutrisweet. Sugar free, caffeine free soda is processed, by the body, like water.
The pain relief connection makes it even better. Good enough for me. Now, who has it on sale?

Drink mine straight (Good Whiskey)

Load a glass with ice pour Makers' Mark add a little water(ok so it's not straight). Sip it. Coke just didn't work in anything for me since I gave up Jack years ago.

A late buddy of mine talked me into drinking it like this. I haven't stopped since. Sometimes I chase it with a beer, but usually try to keep the 2 separate

Make mine straight

Like to drink Makers Mark over ice in a tall glass. I sip, never guzzle unless its a shot or hiball. I gave up Jack and coke years ago. For me, soda pop messes with the bourblon taste. To each his own, I say! Cheers!

Well, how many calories does sugar (actually its that nasty corn syrup these days) actually add to a can of soda.
I just looked at a can of Pepsi and a can of Cheerwine, and they both show 150 calories. I guess thats a lot for such a small can, but if you got two drinks or three drinks from a can it might not be so bad.

I'm thinking the real culprit is the alcohol itself. The body will metabolize it as sugar anyway, and there you go---all sugar beverage.

O.K., perhaps a little splash of Grey Goose in a Fresca isn't looking so bad after all! Teeee heeee!
