This Maytag wringer washer has been hanging around in various family’s garages for 30 years, but I wouldn’t let it be sold or scrapped as I always had dreams of cleaning it up and installing it in my laundry room. Well, I finally have a laundry room, and it’s time! I’m reading all the forums, and watching Brad Ross’s fantastic videos, and carefully starting the disassembly.

First question: I know the manufacture date and model can be determined by the serial number, but I don’t know how to read it. Can anyone tell me more? My serial number is 646882B. I think it’s a model 30, right?

Second question: Does anyone have any kind of manual or parts diagram for this? I’m willing to buy PDF scans!

Model 30

Hi Amy ... the manufacture date is September 1936.

Glad to hear you're watching my videos on YouTube - I hope they are of help to you in your restoration project!
Regarding parts listing and diagrams, I have the manual, so I'm happy to email you at any time. It's about 8 pages total. I wish I had this manual when I dove into my first restoration, but didn't so I had to do it "by the seat of my pants". It was certainly a learning experience!

Brad, thank you so much! I don’t know that I would’ve been confident enough to take this on without having found your videos, thank you so much for making them. But of course a manual would be awesome, please email to [email protected]. Thanks!

So far, everything looks like it ought to work fine. The power cord was so rotted it wasn’t safe to try plugging it in, but all the mechanical parts moved freely. My husband has experience with electric motors so he’s going to work on that part while I’m cleaning and reassembling the rest. Thank you so much for your video about what grease to use, by the way!
