kenny, we had one tick down from the TOL the digital model you have posted. Circa 1998-9. I guess if this one was gonna have center seal trouble it would of happened by now. The problem was probably hit or miss. Mine completely failed at 7 years to the day. The ones in your pics had lighted consoles, the little switch at the top on the horizontal chrome looking stripe. alr

These also look like the 93-94 model Speed Queens too. They were still built by Raytheon and the Amana was just a Speed Queen with the Amana nameplate. Both washers were identical.
We almost bought this set, but then we saw out electronic Whirlpool set and bought those instead. 20 years later we are still happy we made the choice we did.

This is the same set my Aunt has. Washer is still on the original belt and never had a service call. Dryer has had a heating element replaced. Great set!

Malcolm, i am glad your aunt has had such reliability. At the time it was the most expensive washer we had ever purchased and lasted the least amount of time. It had a powerful wash action and buttons to modify any cycle you could possibly want. I would think it was entirely possible just a bad lot of center seals. I continued to use mine, i just put an old towel down until the leak got too bad. I do remember it was right after we returned home after katrina. They wanted $350 to fix it, the seal was cheap the labor charges resulted from having to darn near take the whole thing apart. arthur
