Here in the Detroit area, one item you'll see on every Polish restaurant menu is dill pickle soup. It's probably a staple in other Polish or Slavic communities, and it's something my family has been making ever since I can remember.

It is chicken stock based, and really doesn't take long to make. It's especially good on cold Michigan days, and served with some good rye bread and butter, makes for a wonderful light meal.

We're having our annual "Polish" day on March 21, a celebration of our Polish heritage with all kind of Polish dishes and this looks like a perfect addition. Started out a few years ago with 10 or 12 people now most of the family comes and we are topping out at 30+ folks. Started out as a way to pass on traditional recipes to the younger generation and it has worked quite well in that respect.

Have to admit, I’ve never heard of Dill Pickle Soup, but it looks delicious, Kevin. I have exactly four dill spears remaining in the fridge...

You have a wonderfully natural, engaging onscreen persona. Always fun to see Ralph in a cameo appearance, too. His commentary—as well as the banter between you—makes your videos stand out from the pack.

Also: You’re quickly getting the hang of your new steady cam! There is far less extraneous motion and zooming in/out in this episode. The new camera really enhances the overall look of the videos and the new kitchen is fantastic. If you don’t mind sharing, what brand and model of camera are you using now?
