Dishwasher died!

Hi everyone.... old faithful (maytag dishwasher) has died an untimely death and need to see if i could get some information. This is an older model matag dishwasher model #LCW202. the pump has locked up and i am searching for a new one or possibly a rebuild kit for this one. Anyone have any idea just how old this machine is? It came with the house when I bought it and it has been the best dishwasher i've ever had. Hate to part with it since it doesn't look it's age. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

amazing just how many there are still washing...

That's what the guy at Appliance Parts Co said too...He said these were excellent machines. Of course i had to agree....he did tell me that Maytag stopped production of this model in '90-'91.....Still would like to find out just what year this model was produced.....(just for s_ _ _ ts and giggles) I looked at my first post and noticed that i transposed the model #. It should be LWC-202 not LCW with the series #01. So I'm assuming that this would be one of the first produced? Anyway thanks again for the information......

The complete module is part # 901459....has been discontinued. I think A.P. Wagner may have a lead on one.

Awesome!

Glad I could help! Remember to put a new belt on and lube it with polylube (the belt should come with a small tube of it in the bag) so the unit will run quietly. Periodic upkeep of the Maytag belt drive dishwasher includes putting a small bit of polylube on the belt to prevent squeel when running and it also helps prolong belt life... That was a great design of dishwasher and it's amazing just how many there are still washing...

You keep teasing...

You always give me the model and series number but NEVER the serial number. Remember that on maytags the two letters at the end of the serial number will tell actual month and year of production. Give me the letters and I'll give you the info...

Yep! sure did and i got everything installed and put back together last night and did a water test to make sure i didn't have any leaks.....Still have a couple VERY small leaks to take care of (from a couple of the screws that hold the pump assembly in place). But those are minor....Thanks again RCD for the information....I just couldn't see letting this machine go to the dump......it still has many years of life left in it...

A hint...

Of course, it would have been more timely BEFORE you put it in... When those go in, you can use a little gasket sealant around the tub when mounting the module and screws. The factory didn't use it but it can help...

Yeah i thought of that but when i pulled the old pump out it just had the rubber gasket around the lip of the tub...The leaks are coming from 2 of the screws (which have rubber "O" ring gaskets as well) the pump itself has sealed up just fine..the screws are easily accessible and will just remove them and shoot some sealant down the hole to help seal it up....other than that she works great........Thanks for all the help!
