hello to all aw members,

my brother and my sister in law even if they are not married are in need of a new dishwasher to replace there whirpool dishwasher i reccomended them this maytag dishwasher https://www.corbeilelectro.com/en/d...dishwasher-mdb4949skz-24-inch-stainless-steel and the kitchenaid dishwasher that i have https://www.brickenligne.com/produc...l-dishwasher-with-third-level-rack-kdfe204kps are there any youtube videos of the maytag dishwasher in action on a full cycle link number1 and what would you suggest in case my sister in law ask me for more suggestions?

The kitchen aid and Maytag’s are a fortune as well. I always recommend newer used machines, we got our 2020 Maytag a while ago and it’s incredible. I’ve never used another new machine that has quite as much power as this one does. It was almost brand new when we got it used off a lady who wanted to redo her kitchen all white and she loved the dishwasher and didn’t want to sell it but you know people nowadays everything has to match. White kitchens with stainless appliances are luxurious looking, but whatever we got an amazing machine that doesn’t mess around and gets right to steam cleaning! This is the model from the last generation of Maytag dishwashers, which was based off the point voyager whirlpools from the early 2000s into 2014. They claim this dishwasher has “the most powerful motor on the market” and I really was convinced it was all bluff and talk until I watched the performance of this machine and it’s got as much power as my 2005 powerclean does just about it was very shocking coming from a modern dishwasher. Model number MDB4949SHZ front control Maytag. Highly recommend!

I’d definitely check out the Miele dishwashers, I’ve used the current top of the line models from Bosch, kitchenaid, Ge and the Miele definitely is the nicest. Right now you can get a pretty good deal on the G5008 that Lowe’s has. It’s not much more than a Maytag or kitchenaid and based on my experience with whirlpool products will last much longer.

Asko

I have a Miele dishwasher which works pretty well. Every once in a while some random item doesn’t come clean. My mom has an Asko 40 series. It cleans exceptionally well. When my miele goes I’m getting an Asko. It’s held up much better than the short lived Bosch it replaced.

Gmarquez, about Miele

Why is the Miele nicer than the Bosch 500/800, KitchenAid 200, 400, 600 series, or the Maytag mentioned in Reply #3. In other words, what makes it stand out to you over the rest?

The dishwashers in the post are the ones I am looking at too.

With the KitchenAid (especially in regard to the 600 series), it seems there are issues with the electronics (touch pad controls). If you want the option of a heating element, I believe this has it. The racks are really nice, allow flexibility, and glide easy.

What I liked about the Bosch is one gets the same great cleaning it seems in all models. The biggest difference seems to be in the drying and rack options with more expensive models. It dries a different way that does not seem to use a heating element. The 500 pops the door open (some plastics may remain wet), and the 800 has Crystal Dry (reviews say plastics dry well). No more melted plastics when they fall through the rack. Keep in mind some water may remain on top in recessed areas. For those on a tighter budget, it seems like you can get the same results with the Ascenta if you remember to pop the door open after a certain point? This may end up being me!

Maytag mentioned here stands out. Same great cleaning. More rack options with the more expensive models. I like that some models I would choose come in black (not stainless steel black of the KitchenAid, just black). The only black Bosch I can find is the Ascenta. It seems to be one of the lower priced ones with a lot of features.

I couldn't decide. I actually ended up buying a used part off of eBay to fix my Frigidaire Gallery. When I first got it, I wasn't impressed. Then I found the Cascade Boil out (which I can't get anymore because it's too expensive) and Finish with Finish rinse aid. It works wonderfully well. The heating element dries the dishes well. The touch pad is going out after about 10 years; I don't plan to replace that. Mine has a gray arm at the bottom and a blue ring attached to it. Not sure if the newer ones would work as well, but I'll throw Fridgidaire into the mix. I only paid $400 for this and the same thing now has practically doubled in price.

Have a cheap Bosch Ascenta. which we installed about 7 years ago--entirely happy with it. Just keep it full up with rinse agent and let 'er rip. My advice stands, though...take your dishware/glasses to the store and do a test-fit...nothing more discouraging than the favorite cereal bowls/dinner plates/table knives/water glasses simply not fitting in the dishwasher you now have for the next 15 years.

The main reason I like the mieles the most is the flexibility in the rack design. As far as I know it’s the only brand where you can raise or lower one side of the second rack which allows you to put a baking sheet on the lower side and wine glasses on the upper side. The handles to raise and lower the racks are also a lot nicer than the Bosch and Miele uses a full third spray arm for the third rack instead of a small spinner.
If you go for the mid level mieles you also get a water softener which very few Bosch models have. Depending on what part of the country you’re in this might not be important but I’ve got hard water where I’m at.
The final reason is the overall materials quality feels so much nicer when you use it, the Bosch models feel overly tight and the kitchenaid models don’t feel all that well made.
A friend of mine has the current top of line kitchenaid model and so far it’s logged 2 service calls in under a year. I’m sure this is mostly anecdotal evidence for for me Miele appliances are all I’ll ever own.

I don't think there is such a thing as a cheap or middle of the line Miele dishwasher in Canada.

Just look at the following choices at JC Perreault. The cheapest is at least $1,900.00 before taxes.(taxes here are 15%) Cheapest is at the bottom left corner of page 1. Some of the other models are in the $3000 and $4000 dollar range.

Reply 9. My older whirlpool allows me to raise one side of the upper rack without having to adjust both sides, I think this is the same case for all newer whirlpool models with adjustable racks. It’s such a great feature and all machines should offer it. Our Maytag tall tub that I shared in my reply above is so tall I don’t ever have to worry about anything being too tall on either racks the measurements are perfect, it seems like it has a few extra inches that our old one didn’t have.

Kitchenaid and Maytag are made by Whirlpool, using similar components and charging a premium. Our Miele is still going strong after 20 years and once installed (as they are very heavy) has been excellent. It was on sale when we bought it and has been the best appliance purchase we've made.

Even if Maytag and Kitchenaid are a little more expensive than Whirlpool, they are still cheaper than a Miele dishwasher.
In North America, only the rich can afford a Miele dishwasher. You never see them in middle-priced homes.
