Dishwasher timing question

So on my way back from work, I see an Inglis (soil settler) dishwasher on the curb! I snatched it quick. Everything seems to be working fine. It has 3 cycles on the switch and timer. My question is, say if i set the timer to a normal wash, and selected heavy or pots and pans on the cycle selector (switches), would that make the timer move slower? or stay the same?

of the dial may help determine this. If pots and pans an normal both begin the cycle at the same point on the dial, then it moves slower when you select pots and pans. That is if the dial does say pots and pans/heavy/normal at the same point, or only says normal. Then the heavy/pots button sets the timer to run slower.

If pots/pans/heavy

come before or ahead of normal on the timer dial, then that determines the wash time length, and the buttons are a heated water boost.

The buttons may or may not also turn on fill/drain sequences that are not normally there for just the normal wash, in order to give extra wash action on a heavier cycle.

The manual has Normal 85 minutes, Heavy 90, and Pots4 & Pans 98, including dry time.  It doesn't appear the high-temp is thermostatically held to raise water temp.  Just turns on the heater during main wash phase. This "option" is already activated for Pots & Pans cycle.

Possible timer issue?

Just finished another load in the dishwasher. Looks like this is still our primary dishwasher until our Kenmore gets fixed for the third time, the wrong part was installed.

I ran a cycle on normal with High temp boost selected and I ran into something pretty odd, after the final rinse It should have done a 37 minute dry. Even more oddly though, I was timing the dishwashers normal cycle which is 85 minutes as stated by a previous poster (1 hour and 25 minutes), but the cycle ended at 1 hour and 06 minutes INCLUDING THE DRY TIME. I'm pretty sure the dishwasher went into the dry cycle at 50 minutes on the timer (on my phone) and then I went back up. Couple minutes later to come check on it i notice that it's already on the off position...Huh? I then figured out that it only stayed on dry for 16 minutes...no wonder everything was wet.

So I ran the dry cycle again but this time, it went for 31 minutes and everything was bone dry this time. Could this indicate that the timer is moving to fast?
