My first question is, do RCA Whirlpool dryers have belts like the Maytag Halo Of Heat dryers? If so, get a picture or video of it. Second question, how long has Whirlpool been making 29" dryers with the lint screen on top? Those are my two questions.

Whirlpool has made 29" dryers since they first started. Most of them had the lint filter on top or no lint filter at all. I have seen some older BOL dryers with an attachable lint filter at the back where it blew the air out. They always were a belt drive and at first had pulleys much like Maytag HOL dryers. They had two belts, one for the actual drum pulley that attached to an idle pulley. The idle pulley went to the motor and then to the drum pulley. They also had a separate belt from the blower to the motor also. These were the early machines and in the 60's they changed to the long belt that wrapped completely around the drum and ran off the motor with a small idle pulley for tension on the belt. The entire inner drum of these machines rotated. Later on, the larger capacity machines had a stationary front and back panel and the drum is all that rotated. They also had the blower wheel attached to the end of the motor by then too.

Thanks for answering my question.

It interesting how most dryers of the 1950's into the early 1960's used belts and pulleys and belts, instead of having a belt that goes around the entire drum. I have seen vintage dryers on google images that used belts and pulleys. My other question is, do the dryers that used belts and pulleys have less lint build up in them? It seems like dryers that have a belt that goes around the drum have more lint build up, compared the vintage dryers that used belts and pulleys. I know that the big dryers in laundymats use belts and pulleys like vintage dryers of the late1950's and early 1960's.
