My '80s were a very different experience. Played in bands, disliked most dance/disco music, especially the Top 40 stuff of the era.
My '80s consisted of: Echo & The Bunnymen, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Wire, The Cure, New Order (first of several exceptions to the dance music rule), Lloyd Cole & The Commotions, The Church, Japan, The Fall, The Go-Betweens, Husker Du, The Jesus & Mary Chain, John Foxx, The Smiths, Prefab Sprout, The Psychedelic Furs, PiL, The Replacements, Simple Minds, Soft Cell, Sparks, Squeeze, Swans, Talking Heads, Throbbing Gristle, Throwing Muses, The The, The Undertones, The Violent Femmes, XTC...
Oh, the 80's; I was in my twenties, skinny, and had hair; badly butchered punk hair, but hair none-the-less. And awesome weed. Always.
So, no, don't care much for Lady Gaga's music, although she does have a brilliant sense of creating an aura about her---always looks stunningly eye-catching.
One of my favorite current bands is Grizzly Bear. Find their video for "Two Weeks" on YouTube. The original one is weirdly slowed down, and their heads gradually spew fireworks; another director recently made a new one for the same song featuring an animated same-sex couple, but I haven't seen it.
