Do you have specific days of the week for laundry?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I do most of the laundry on Saturdays, when I can hang laundry on the line and take it down as soon as it is dry. Generally that means bath towels, bed sheets, and washable throw rugs.

I will run a load of bath towels in the middle of the week if they run out (I keep seven, but only do five or six at a time - that's all that will fit in the Neptune).

Other stuff is done as needed.

Every day is at least one load of towels about 10 in the load, these are from the dogs. One is old and can't hold her bladder much anymore, now the other 2 thinks it is ok to do it also on occassion. Those get hung out weather permitting. I have a 45 gallon plastic trash barrel that I use for laundry downstairs near the machine. When the basket upstairs gets filled it gets sorted to clothes in the barrel and our towels in a pile near the machine. Towels get done a couple of times in a week to catch up. When the barrel is full then it gets sorted to 5 or 6 loads and done when I will be home to take them out of the dryer. Sometimes a couple a day till done. Never ending piles. Could never use a wringer don't have that type of time. Wish I did.

this is too funny

everyone has their own routine seems like.

Thurs I do a dark and white load, Saturday do the shirts of the week, Sunday the bed and another dark and white load, and usually another one of whatever kind of stuff.

When we was growing up in the new apartment house in Brooklyn, wash day was on Saturday.
It was an all day affair using that Avocado three cycle one water level Kenmore. Since I was the one who done my family's laundry for 6,
I think I averaged close to 8 to 10 loads.
2 loads of whites
2 loads of towels
1 load of jeans
2 loads of colors and one load of delicate and that 120v. dryer is still going strong and being used by my cousin.
The lint filter and the door latch was the only thing replaced on that dryer.
Now I do a load of laundry on any given day of the week.

I used to do at least one load every night. Now that I have the larger FL machine it's down to twice a week, or when there is a full load.

Bedding is still done on Saturdays unless the kid is puking or something. Once did 12 loads in one night in my Dependable Care Maytag, don't want to relive that one.

I wash on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. If am working a half day on Wednesday i will also do a colours wash then.
Mainly i do most of the wash on Friday to spare Mum the drudgery of doing it all weekend, but somehow she manages to conjure up loads from nowhere.
It starts with colours and they get hung on the undercover line to stop the sun from fading them. Then towels and whites with no softner, on the big Hills Hoist in the yard. Then sheets, undercover line again so they dry gently. Mum washes her and dads clothes on the weekend and also the mats out of the bathrooms and the dogs foam bed and mattress thing.
