Does anyone here live in a mobile (manufactured) home and how do you like it?

The manufacturer of this place is a reputable manufacturer in Pennsylvania. Pine Grove is the builder and the house is very solid and we'll built. We'll see though. I am grateful to the good LORD for my blessings.
Nice looking home
It looks pretty nice to me. And, all homes need maintenance and upkeep. I bought my house in 1990 and it was built in 1946 and remodeled in 1960. I have remodeled the bathrooms, put in new windows, two air conditioning systems, new roof. New tile in the family room and new vinyl floor in the kitchen. Just finishing repainting the exterior, first repaint was in 2000. I also had insulation blown in the walls and attic. There is some other stuff that I could do but choose not to.

The nicest mobile home I was ever in belonged to my mom's friend Jean, and it was custom built for her in 1980. As she was into cooking, it had a really nice kitchen. All appliances were GE, in the Harvest Wheat color. A SxS refrigerator with ice and water dispenser, built-in cooktop, double wall ovens, a 30" range (making a total of three ovens), dishwasher, hoods, and compactor. It seems like that kitchen was about a fourth of of home. The two baths were equally nice, and it had a separate laundry room.
I recently visited an old neighbor in a 55 and older park nearby. All the homes were Maple Leaf from Canada that were super insulated with 2x6 walls and made to stand up to our brutal winters. He said it was easy to heat and very happy there. Lot rent was $350/month that included trash, lawn care and snow removal. He said the only vacancies are when someone dies and the place is immediately sold.
Well, never lived in a mobile home or a manufactured home. There are a couple three mobile home parks not far from here. One is named "Trailer Haven" so you can guess what that looks like, LOL. But they do have a very cool looking sign. And from I can see, the place is well maintained. If you need a place of your own and the price is right, why not? And it may be preferable to living in a big apartment building. On the other hand, an apartment building with the right tenants can have its advantages.
Most of my life has been in rentals, but the past 24 years I've owned this house. So I get to enjoy paying property taxes (latest I estimated them at about $400/mo), as well as home insurance (another $150/mo for both home and quake). I managed to pay off the mortgage a few years ago and that was a big relief. Now I'm calculating how to pay all the bills from SS and retirement accounts. Not a problem ... yet ...
I've been perfectly happy camping out in the mountains with not much more than a tent and a sleeping bag. The bottom line is, as trite as it sounds, you can't take it with you. So enjoy whatever and whomever you got while it lasts.

My other grandparents bought a new mobile in 1981 and put it into a park on owned land. It was a pretty nice mobile, bedroom and bath at each end with an open kitchen/living/dining. I have some nice memories of that place.
The park ended up starting to go downhill, so they decided it was time to sell. They ended up buying a few blocks in a nice subdivision and having new home built back in '95.
When I was a kid we rented a mobile home for a while between moving homes. I think late '80s era probably. It was pretty nice, had a nice sized kitchen, living room, dining room with vaulted ceilings, walk in closets, etc.
I'm REALLY liking these new park model mobiles I've seen for sale lately. 9 foot ceilings with trays in the living room and bedroom, tall transom windows, nice stainless side by side fridge, stove, dishwasher, recessed lighting. Textured walls, house style trim and doors, etc.
If they made those in a 2 bedroom option, I'd probably buy some land, have one installed and then build a barn for parking and hobbies.
