Does anyone know how old this mini fridge is?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I would say its mid 1960s by the look of it.

Here in the UK Hoover (and possibly in Europe) had a very comprehensive range of fridges and freezers from the mid 1960s to the mid 1980s, all badged from Zanussi.

Hoover were never afraid to put their name on something other companies manufactured.

Here is the UK selection from around 1970 alongside their washers and dishwashers - dishwashers also Zanussi

"made in Yugoslavia" - it would probably be made by Gorenje.

Gorenje fridges and washing machines were sold here in the 70s and 80s badged as Pacific, usually somewhere on the appliance there was a small badge that said "Pacific by Gorenje."

Later Email / Southcorp imported some Gorenje appliances with local brand names they owned such as Simpson and Frigidaire on them. The "Simpson" front loaders from Gorenje were pretty popular. This company was eventually bought out by Electrolux and I think the connection with Gorenje stopped around then???

Kleenmaid, an Australian company that mainly sold rebadged Speed Queen washing machines, also offered some Gorenje fridges and washing machines, again badged as Kleenmaid.

So it seems Gorenje have been happy to make appliances with many various badges on them, and my guess is that the little Hoover fridge is one of them.

Loving that commercial.
Look at the house they filmed that in. So retro. It looks like a victorian that's had a "newly" remodeled kitchen installed with built in side by side coffee color frig and GE single wall oven.
I just love the retro details like the shelf unit full of plants, the white rotary dial desk phone right next to the sink, the "Z" brick on the kitchen wall, and the laundry basket Jane's holding.

She'd make a wonder professor. Maybe even have a boyfriend from another planet. But I'm just talking silliness here.
