So back in October our lovely Samsung fridge we had for 8 years died. So we bought a Whirlpool fridge and from day one we had an issue with the deli drawer. It's a full width drawer and when loaded part way with stuff the drawer would fall out of the tracks onto the shelf below. So I just had the tech come and says to me that the liner is too wide for the drawer. He is going to order new tracks but he said it won't work since the liner needs to be snug against the shelf...which it's not. So he suggested we return the fridge to Lowes to get another one. I like this fridge but I can't live with a drawer that falls all the time. Also I am not getting the same model since who is to say that the newer one won't have the same issue....

We bought a KA Architect SxS in 2008.  It would regularly allow ice crescents to bounce their way down to the freezer floor instead of into the bin.  When the third tech out couldn't correct the problem, he gave us KA's number.  When I called, I didn't even have to provide the full story and the rep advised that they'd be sending out a new fridge of the same model.  We like the fridge fine and are happy with it, and the ice crescents land in the bin as they should.

You could end up with a trouble-free fridge even if you get the same model again.

I hate the Fridge's where the bins ride/slide along the outter rails, they all seems to pop off, or not slide correctly and twist and bind.......

some of the newer WP's I am considering have actual rollers and glides that make pushing/pulling the drawers so much easier.......you may want to look into and consider.....

sometimes on the ones without rollers you can make it a little easier by lubricating the tracks with vaseline....or any lube you may have around...

Well we tried the paper towel trick by rolling them up and placing them between the wall of the fridge and the track, works for awhile but they fall out. So I called Lowes and they said I have to get an RA number from Whirlpool then they will come out and take the fridge back. But like I told Scott we will can see what they will do once Monday comes and I call Whirlpool. The tech is sending them the report...so this ought to be interesting. If this turns out to be a disaster then I won't be buying from Lowes ever again, or Whirlpool.

I have purchased a whirlpool refrig from lowes and had problems with it. Mine was a little more dramatic that it had an internal leak from the 1st day and ruined half of the new kitchen before we even moved into the house. We had to rip out the cabinets, the hard wood floors and the walls behind the cabinets insulation vapor barrier etc. Lowes came out on a sunday to inspect and replaced the refrig on monday. Lowes assisted me with Whirpool and we sent them all the bills for deconstruction of the kitchen along with reconstruction. Whirlpool sent me a check for the entire process. So I have nothing bad to say about lowes or whirpool they both came through for me.

Well set up appointment #2 because it takes 3 service calls before Whirlpool can issue an RA#. Imagine that. Lowes wont take it back since its out of the *30 days for appliances...you dont see that when the 90 days in bold but then there is that asterisk...I was on the phone with Whirlpool and they told me that the tech that was out had to call them to tell them that the fridge is not repairable...he never did that. WTF why do they not follow thru?!?

Sounds like my scenario with the KA.  On the third attempt, the tech gave me KA's number.  We purchased the fridge at a large local appliance dealer, not Lowe's.  I think because the one-year warranty was nearly expired, the idea of involving the dealer didn't even come into play.   I also think that when you buy KA's TOL product line, it's a no-questions asked replacement policy within the warranty period, so that's why my exchange process was a total breeze.
