I don't think the Republican DOJ will do anything much to block this merger. I could be wrong, but I can't recall any other similar scale mergers having been blocked for the past six years. It might even be argued that the merger is required to maintain a US appliance manufacturing presence, since much of the competition is now foreign-owned anyway (Electrolux/Frigidaire, LG, Samsung, Bosch, etc...).
