Absolutely gorgeous!!

Early 80's model for sure. The ivory buttons instantly give that away.

One trick I always do to get better rollover for those 90 second rinses (or better rollover for bigger items like comforters) is to adjust the water level up to where it's level with the bottom of the filter/top of the agitator.

I talked one of buddy's into getting a mint (and I mean MINT!!!!) LA810/LDE810 (TOL) set a couple of months ago. The little old lady used the set only a couple of years and passed away. The set was stored unused for over 20 years. I'll have to go over and take a few pics and post them up. He absolutely LOVES them!

A friend of mine was storing his Maytag in my attic. I had an upstairs apartment at the time. That was exactly like this one. I sold it for him to a friend at work for $50.00 then not more than 6 months later moved into this house. Damn, I wish I would have kept it!

When one gets rid of something they haven't used in years, the need for it comes around real quick.

I have a load of fancy & antique glassware for my mythical "china cabinet". Haven't had one ever. Wait. will be givin tthe stuff away and the next house *BOOM* wil have a formal dining room with space for one. *LOL*

(This is NOT an excuse to hoard and gather!)

Murphy's law.

Nice washer and a great find. My parents had a Maytag 510 when I was in my teens in the early 80's. My aunt has the washer now and its still going. Yeah it had the blue tub and 3 temp selections and 3 cycles Regular, Perm press and Delicate Fabric Matic. We also had the DE710 dryer. The dryer was Ok but I didnt like being stuck with no time dry. It forced one to use either Regular, Perm Press, Wrinkle Release and Air. The dryness setting was Dry and More Dry. No damp button. Both worked well and like I said are still going strong.
This past weekend I fixed a DG 410 dryer. The belt broke so I changed it out for a couple of friends of ours. Now the dryer purrs like a kitten and dries fast. I couldnt get over how well it dry but it left the load a tad too warm for my taste at the end of the cycle. Still everything came out soft and fluffy.
Getting back to the 510 washer. When we got it it didnt have a softener dispenser so I changed that out with a filter that had one. I didnt need the bleach dispenser since I dont use it..I am an Oxygen Bleach man here ala Clorox 2. That washer is a workhorse and my 613 washer is a good machine. I have not used it in almost a year since I got the Mieles. One thing I cant move the washer since its a ton. I will have to invest in an appliance truck for my basement.

my family still has our LA510. It's been a workhorse since 1983 for our family of five. Still going strong.
Had the bleach cup and dampers replaced about 10 years ago, that was it for repairs.

Talk about a family stalwart. the matching dryer died in 2003, so we replaced it with a Neptune electronic console dryer. Another fantastic machine.
