I read this article this morning:

Police today released the name of a 51-year-old pedestrian who died early Thursday when a train struck him near Lincoln and Washington.

A police report identified the man as Michael C. Meyer.

A preliminary investigation indicated that he possibly fell into the path of the train around 5:30 a.m., police said Thursday.

And no disrespect to the victim or his family, but my sick little mind immediately thought "After all these years Jamie Lee Curtis is finally safe."

My twisted little mind

was driven to distraction (an admittedly short drive) long ago.

It's a tribute to Jamie Lee's skill as an actress that she has survived the stereotyping of cheap horror flick bimbo and integrated the image into so many successful roles.

Still, yes, I did get a chuckle over it, see twisted, distracted little mind, above.

...and then there is THIS!

Halloween was the first thing I thought. I quite enjoy my twisted mind, keeps me from getting bored.

If it's a comfort for us enjoying our sick minds, I'm sure that when Michael C. Meyers was alive, he probably heard a lot about Michael Meyers. Doing simple math, he'd have been about 20 when the movie came out, and I'm sure every friend who saw it probably had a comment.

As for Laurie, well, she may never be safe. With horror movies, you can completely kill the killer (whatever form the killer takes) six different ways, then feed the remains to a black hole just to completely make sure all is well. And yet Hollywood will still find a way of making the killer come back just to milk a few more dollars off a profitable series.
