In this season of haunting spirits and other scary stuff, here's a cake that will make the evilist ghoul smile (providing he/she is a chocolate fan).

Kevin, that cake looks delicious. I like your mixing bowl, too. Is that a Pyrex bowl in the Pennsylvania Dutch pattern?

My goodness-haven't seen a cake like that since my Mom used to make them for me.Watched the recipe video and drooled thruout it.Problem--I couldn't wait the two hours for the cake and frosting to cool! I would have devoured the cake and icing long before then!

Doug,

The Pyrex bowl is in the "Butterprint" pattern, although I always called it "Amish in Wonderland." I have a few pieces in that pattern. I love the versatility of these bowls - great for mixing, serving, storing or baking.

beautiful cake, but...

...that little Frigidaire's oven must be soundproof, otherwise that zither music would have made your cake fall...awful stuff that zither plunking.

Zithered Chocolate Cake

Pyrex "Butterprint"

I have one of these bowls, and now I know what the official name of the pattern is. I also like "Amish in Wonderland!"

Zither music is unusual, but I feel it is more tolerable than the theremin.

Here is a chocolate cake made while theremin music played in the background.
