I know little about wringer washers. I've purchased all the pdf's available at this site. Surprisingly, there seem to be only a few double-wall washers, Maytags and Speed Queens. I'm sure there are others not in the ephemera section.

It would appear to be me to be important to have a double wall on these washers to minimize heat loss. Did people buy single-wall machines just to save money? The Speed Queens, for example, have that solid bowl-shaped tub but apparently just the best Maytags had a double tub.

double wasll wringers

Double walls would help keep the water warm but most advertisements claimed you could do your entire family wash in one hour so I don't think the water would have cooled that much. I have used wringers on and off for years and I think the water gets dirty and needs changed before it gets cold, besides you start with whites and less dirty clothes then move on to colors which should be washed in cooler water.
