Does the Downy calming lavender have a strong vanilla scent. It seems like every thing Downy makes has some type of artificial smelling vanilla scent to it and that is something that makes me gag. I love vanilla but only when it has the sharp intense scent that real vanilla has.

I might try the Downy if the lavender doesn't contain as they describe it "creamy vanilla"

Please let me know.

Jerrod, the label describes the contents as "Lavender and Vanilla Bean." I find it pleasant, but not very vanilla-like at all. Actually, I don't know how lavender it is either, but it is not that sick floral scent that seems to have taken over laundry & cleaning products since they began to be manufactured to appeal to women from south of the border.

Softener keeps in the freezer

It does not freeze at -4C and stays liquid so you can keep your favorite flavor a long time without it spoiling. I put 2 oz in the freezer to test and it was fine when I took the little container out some days later. It had not frozen around the edge or on the bottom. I do not have a great amount and only a few ounces of the Vernel scents left so there is no need to worry about it going bad, but just thought that I would run a test.

Laundress, did you try putting your softener in a small blender jar with some hot water and blending it on Frappe or Puree? Possibly if you tried blending it just before the final rinse, it might hold together.

Isn't just emulsion being no longer stable, but scent of Vernel goes off as well.

Oh it may smell like same rose or whatever scent in bottle, but virtually none of it survives after laundry has dried. Since one line dries linens that's saying something...

In fact one finds liquid laundry products in general lose scent if one leaves things too long. My stash of Ariel Excel gel in Alpine Fresh isn't what it once was either.
