Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

Looking Good Rick,

But things are getting a little tight in your basement and garage aren't they? I'll gladly help take a couple off your hands. That set looks fantastic. Hope you're enjoying it as much as I'm enjoying mine.

BTW, I found a matching dryer for my washer. I'll have to post later on.

too much stuff!!

Hey Nelson, Yes, I too much stuff! If Timot could see that I can't even get the "old schools" out of the garage, he would be giving me the "business" lol!! However he is not here, so I am not tripping on it. Almost another year before he comes home, and I intend to clean up this spring/summer. The brown 66' Imperial set will be scrapped. I am using the Rollermatic "guts" in the 1960 Imperial to replace the Multitragic unit that is the original for 1960. I am sick of f---ing around with "Multijunkpile" transmitions. A friend of mine could use the dryer, so I am giving the dryer to him.

I am so glad that you were able to locate the matching dryer to your Tower Top washer! You know, the 57 T.T. that you own, was really sweet running machine. I never thought that it would be leaving my basement. Just goes to show you, one never knows with this hobby..... lol!!

How the 64 Filter-Flo? Hooked up and running also? Please post pixs asap!<:

I know Kenny, but we can't save them all. I like the 60 Imperial styling much better, plus I DO NOT have a matching dryer to go with the 60 Imperial. (you know my addiction to "sets") lol!!

I know ya can't Rick, but it kills me to see that beautiful 66 imperial set get killed. Those don't grow on trees either. Especially with the button problems they had.

I know Bob, but something has to give. Now if the 66 set had been a nice turquoise or even white, instead of the ugly coppertone, I would NOT been able to do it. I really would have to get rid of my furnace then! lol!!

Congratulations Rick! They're gorgeous and in my mind from such a wonderful period in time. Enjoy them to the fullest.

I also was never all that interested in the dryer part of a set. My main focus was always in the washers. However, I'm very happy that I listened to a certain member and decided to start matching sets. The pink 57 LK dryer is getting a workout very contrary to my usual habit of hanging all clothes on the line. ((--:: And I love it, especially when drying a load of white socks.

Yes, I almo must admit that I am sad to see that hamdsome 66 bite the dust but then again we all need to do what we must.

Dick

Hey Bob! You know I love sexy, masculine and brown, it is all fine with me! <:
However when it comes to appliances, coppertone is my least favourite. And Frigidaires coppertone was the worst of the worst. The pix of the 66 set show the colour as a deep brown. It is only shows like that because of the darkness of the garage. In reality, the colour is more like a medium tan colour. Not a nice deep brown like the G.E. or Maytag. Truth be told, these are ugly. I know it is still sort a shame to lose them though. I thought about it all Winter, and this is what I decided to do though. The 60 Custom Imperial really is much nicer looking.
