I read about restoring dried out rubber by spraying it with silicone lubricant then sealing it up for a few days. Tried it. It works if the rubber hasn't cracked and too far gone. Soaked my bleach dispenser hose in silicone for 3 days. It softened up like new. Anyone else tried this?

For many years, whenever I've had a stiff hard hose I've reached for the silicone lube to massage it well.  This method has never failed to provide the desired satisfying results.

(Not ducking or running -- just saying)

I have bad luck with hard hoses, if I don't have anything close in the junk box ill take them to the local auto parts store and see if they can get a close match and retro fit it into the machine, I hate water leaks

Well Ralph, I'd definitely like to see a video of your technique.  I'm intrigued.
