Dryer advice - Whirlpool or Speed Queen

HI all!
i have a dilema. last week I picked up the latest Speed Queen washer and dryer (latest in SA) and I'm thinking of selling the washer with our Whirlpool dryer and keeping the Speed Queen dryer as the Speed Queen has auto dry and a buzzer (I always forget stuff in the dryer) but now I dont know which dryer to keep because to me the time dry o the whirlpool seems to dry faster than the speed queen's auto dry. please help me decide!

I love my SQ dryer 100x more than the WP. Drys perfectly everytime.

Well we've had the whirlpool for about 2 yrs now (bought it from aunt and uncle when they emigrated and it replaced the 5kg KIC) and we've never had issues. It dries perfectly and quickly. I've never needed more than 40/45 mins per load. Obviously towels and jeans take longer but I prefer to line dry towels and jeans and then air fluff them in the dryer.
I've been using the Speed Queen since I got it because I've always wanted a speed queen dryer but a load that would take 45mins at most in the whirlpool seems to take longer on the automatic regular/delicate cycle on the SQ. Dunno if I'm just being impatient or not.

Does the SQ have a " * " star setting on the dial for energy preferred? Use that. Use the more and less dry usually takes too long. I avg 1 hour and always use delicate heat.

Yip it does have the dot for energy saving. Thankx for the tip I'll try it on wednesday when I wash again and report back. I've been starting it at more dry with regular heat. On the whirlpool I dry everything on delicate. Will try it on the SQ

Just my opinion!

We have owned the SQ ADE3 electric drier for a few weeks now and so far we really like it. Our clothes are softer & cooler coming out of this dryer than when using our old Hotpoint/GE dryer we replaced. I think this is because the Speed Queen dries with more air. This dryer uses 250 cubic feet per minute rather than the 150-170 that is typical. Without checking the wattage that the two machines consume to produce heat "that's where the truth lies" my guess is that the Speed Queen uses less electricity even if it runs for 15% longer time. There seems to be less heat inside & outside of the SQ. Another big plus is that my jeans don't seem to shrink as bad as before. The auto-dry feature works flawlessly on the SQ ADE3, less dry, more dry it performs as the dial dictates it to. One more thought is that I prefer the up-front lint filter. What is with that bee hive design that Whirlpool uses? Just my opinion!

Also, make sure the lint filter is clean and the duct work is clean as well. I had a WP once that I sold, only to find out it was the duct work causing the long drying times.

I like the rear top mounted filter in my whirlpool. Think its quite clever. I always clean the filters after each load and we don't have a vent pipe on the whirlpool (it just stands in the kitchen and does its thing) but the SQ came with a vent pipe and I'll definitely use it. And yes, its clean. But thankx for all the advice. Tomorrow afternoon when I wash I'll use the energy saving part and see how it goes
