Hey guys, I wanted to ask what are your dryer temperatures

Both when running a wet load or a dry load/no load, as my Westinghouse dryer runs at roughly 30/35°C until most of the moisture is out and as the clothes get dryer the temperature gets higher,Which generally seems to double the temperature (about 60/65°C)

So have any of you measured your dryer temperatures?

And also, call me crazy but should one pre-heat a clothes dryer as one would do an oven?

Typical time or thermostatic auto-dry Whirlpool models with non-electronic controls (bi-metal thermostat) target 155°F (68°C) for high and swing a bit higher from residual heat dissipation when the element cycles off.  An empty drum may swing 7°F to 10°F higher.  Presence of clothes moderates the swing.  Dry clothes will swing higher than wet.

My F&P topload dryer targets (per service documentation) 149°F (65°C) with a thermistor.  Diagnostic mode on the LCD AeroSmart model allows instantaneous reading-out of the temperature and it's always a bit below that target.

No need to preheat.
