Greetings from the Cape of Cod!

Yes indeed, it is the KAM Appliance Mart. I dropped in there to see what they had-I'm trying to get my Mom to go with a Duet for our place in Wellfleet (much better for the old septic system than the 50-gal./washload '87 Maytag!), and got to talking with one of the salesmen, who soon figured out that I knew my stuff. I told him I was toying with the idea of moving to the Cape full-time to go into business up there, and he told me to let him know if I did-evidently they're short on service techs-and I could come in as an independent contractor.

Its a small world! I know that store very well. Before they moved to that location the store was a little further down Rt. 28 almost to the Yarmouth town line on the right hand side.

I switched to a frontloader a few months ago. I almost went for a Duet model 9150 but I ended up getting a Frigidaire LTF2940 from Lowes. So far I like it and it washes good and does a good job spinning out the clothes. But I'm now reading about bearing failures in earlier models. I hope Frigidaire has solved the bearing issue.

I sure know about the shortage of service techs on the Cape especially during the summer up there. I know of a couple former GE techs that went to work for KAM during the late 90s just about the time I left to move to FL. I did notice theres a Best Buy store in the Cape Cod Mall now. That really surprized me! I checked it out when I was there back in Nov of 03. I lived in Centerville to be exact. I'm sure you know where that is. I still have family up there.
