...and emerged with a KM 92195110,code CC480-it's a fancy, perhaps TOL one:electronic controls, white tub,DA,flourescent light, real porcelain top.A couple days ago, noticed a DD stuffed headfirst into a dumpster but weather was really nasty so didn't grab- was nice today and washer still there,so is soon as"the coast was clear"dove in for it-had to balance it on the edge of the dumpster, get out,and carefully tip/slide the washer to the ground and onto the dolly and out of sight :)
I had planned parts salvage when I first saw it,but this one will be fixed and join fleet-haven't tried it,but the coupler is intact and everything looks good-cosmetic shape pretty good too.

Perhaps a few pics of this poor little machine that you were able to rescue from it's foreseeable demise. Hopefully nothing major is wrong with it since you are going to take the effort and bring it back to life.

It's always nice when a machine is saved from the crusher.

Glad you were able to rescue that machine from the horrible fate of going thru the trash trucks compactor!Hope you can fix it up!surprized someone would discard a deluxe machine as that.

electronics damaged

tried it and only the light worked-took the panel off and a MOV on the relay board was majorly blown-big soot splotch on the board around the remains of the MOV-transformer in parallel with the MOV was still putting out,so will have to dig further to see what else was damaged by apparent overvoltage situation.Washer "set aside"in storage for now-will get back out later for further investigation and repair.

Now that would explain why the machine was dumpstered-the blown control board-guess you can have it wait until you can get a good control console from another junked similar machine. You make a working machine from two bad ones.

cfz . . .

I hope this one eventually works out! DDs don't generate much interest because they're still so common but I love 'em because they wash well and are so very reliable: my daily driver is a late '80s Whirly that's been in the family since new. Never been out of service and never a repair, it's hard to not like something that just works so well.

Speaking of direct drive washers...

I want to have an all-out project on my whirlpool direct drive into a SUPER DRIVE washer. That is, 1725 RPM spin speed, man. control, front window, huge project. If I get around to it, I'll put it up here.

stand back!

Hehe, you will want to stand back a good distance and have a video camera going on the spin runup-i'm not sure the tub ring would stand that kind of RPM not to mention the suspension with any out-of -balance load LOL.Probably would require at least 2 HP for that kind of spin RPM.would be a lot of fun to see what would happen though! :) A while back,"supremewhirlpol"on here was going to install an inverter driven 3phase industrial motor onto a ~1968 BD whirlpool for extreme spin speed but I don't know what happened with that project...
