Early 1970's Kenmore 700 Series...

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

The famous Alphabet washer......had this exact same washer when I was still living at home with Mom......only difference was that ours didnt have the fabric softener dispenser on the agitator

Actually this model first debuted in 1969, and I think it sold until 1974 or so. To recall, the advertisement for this model as the "No Guesswork Washer" shows up as the POD now and again.

Nice washer, and well kept. Hopefully somebody grabs it.

Have a good one,
James

That was the washer I grew up with, ours was in coppertone though. Gordon sent me a picture of a set he had exactly like ours which is now my desktop background. He would know the details of when they started/ended production. Ours was bought in 1970 and moved with us 3 times and served a family of 4 for 30 years without to many service calls. Sadly, it really was time to say good bye to them in 2000. The washer wouldn;t agitate unless you "helped" it get started

One of the best looking Kenmore control consoles ever, hopefully went to a good home. I'd like to force modern washer designers to look at this for a long, long time as an example of how to design a clean and classy panel without resorting to stupid swirly graphics and impossible to read white lettering on grey backgrounds.

HEADS-UP!! RELISTED due to NO BIDS!

Yup, he has relisted same and only less than 24 HRS LEFT on Relisted washer auction.

And STILL no bids!

He only relisted for 2-3 days so it looks like if no one bids again.. It may

End up as scrap.

And in a related auction also ending late tomorrow on Ebay is a rebuilt Belt DRIVE transmission that can work with above washer..

Only 1 pic posted but looks like a tall agitator post on this unit.
