Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

1959 GE WA650 series Filter Flo Washer!

Go grab it!  Looks to have the revised lid (S3), and quite possible it also has the updated plastic filter pan/mount and fast brake transmission (S7).

Curious what model number this one ends up having.

Well...

Not fast enough, apparently.  Someone had already called early yesterday afternoon to buy it.  The sales person who took the call couldn't do the transaction, so he/she was first in line when the shop owner opened this morning.  I called as soon as they opened, but in all fairness, there was someone ahead of me.  I've not heard back so I have to assume that the other person bought the washer.

Lawrence, I was really hoping this washer had your name on it.  I wonder if someone from here went after it before you saw this thread.  If so, there may still be hope.

Thanks, Ralph

The lady at the antique shop was very nice and said the other person had called at 2:00-something yesterday afternoon, which was several hours earlier than Kenny's post.  So the buyer must have found it independently of aw.org.  Based on what she told me, I think I know who bought the washer, but I'll leave that announcement to him.

Ken,

Ah ha - so you're the one.  I have the pic of this dryer saved and now I have a pic of the matching washer.  If I remember correctly, this was listed on ebay in about 2004 or so, and sold quickly.  I always wondered who the buyer was.  This pair was furnished in our base housing at Seymour Johnson.  They made a totally striking pair!
