Not so early; trim is plastic, tub is gray not blue and the timer dial has a plastic crystal knob.

Also, the timer has the Perm Press cycle. A neighbor two doors away had an early 106 pair. Not only id it just have soak & wash cycles, I seem to recall the dial that showed the progress of the cycle seemed to be a bit more pronounced and not quite as "flat" as other Maytag models I knew of from that early products with the new models in the mid 1960s.
