Great finds Greg - the sales around here for a long time have been awful. Funny- I never remember Cold Power being a liquid - could that have been a regional thing?

Greg--Great finds. I have that style of 1957 Westinghouse iron, but in dry only. It is a great iron, at least for the little I have to use one. Were those little bottles of sta-puf and Downy the give-away sample size? I had one of the sample Final Touch bottles and used to fill it when I had to take my clothes down to the public convenience in the basement when I had to live in a high rise for a while. It was easier than dealing with the whole big bottle. The Final Touch Fragrance helped me to remember better times when I was using laundry equipment of my choice.

That box of Punch sure has a phallic design on the front. I wonder if that was somehow subliminal to women perusing the detergent boxes? Honey in the beehive, honey bunch, every time you kiss me hits me like a punch...

Hi Greg, What a find!! Love all those detergents etc. 3 new boxes of Drive, you just can't beat it. I agree with Tom, the Westinghouse iron is really cool, we had one when I was growing up that was also a steam iron. Love the GE too. I have the same mixing bowl with the handle mine came from Pampered Chef. Glad that you found so many treasures. Terry

Woo hoo!! I don't recall liquid cold power either. In fact, that bottle design reminds me of the Wisk Bottle. As I remember All's bottle being different style.

One of the guys working at the sale was very nice and brought me a big, heavy duty box to carry my treasures in. The house is on a busy street (only 4 blocks from me) so I had to drive my car up to the driveway to haul out the detergents!

I believe the Cold Power liquid was maybe a trial product in this area because I've never seen a standard size bottle of it. I've found many of the sample sizes, but that's all. It's probably quite telling that most of the sample bottles I do find were either never opened or have 1/2 cup used and never touched again.

I think the sample box of Gain is very interesting, it was wrapped up inside the plastic bag it's sitting on in the picture with an advertising card, never used. You can see pictures of stains on the bag, this was what was hung on the doorknob when the sample was delivered. Many of these finds were samples, the Burst, Ajax, Punch and softeners were all free samples.

The house had no dishwasher and no dryer - ever. I gathered there had been a wringer washer prior to the mid-70's MOL Whirlpool automatic. The entire house was spotless, even the washer looked barely used.

"Oh Kirby, in the Biz bag" the only line I remember from a Biz commercial. The mom saying to her kid who had dirty clothes.
Didja get all goosepimply when you saw all the detergents? LOL

I miss Biz and Axion. They worked great for pre-treating stains before laundering. AHHH the good ole' days when enzymes were a good thing!
