You may have seen on the vintage Bendix Birthday thread Alistair has take delivery of the Made in Britain Ebac washing machine. Story goes one Saturday morning Richard (Ricky5050) flagged up that he has seen this machine in a BHF British Heart Foundation) 2nd seller shop for donated and household goods In Newcastle. Unaware to us Mikey (MikeyMatic) was literally round the corner from the shop with his mum shopping.
So next day they met up and hauled it into the car and was delivered to Als Emporium !!

The dispenser is a full pull out drawer with three compartments for pre-wash powder, main wash and a third for rinse additives such as fabric conditioner and / or laundry starch.

The pump arrangement like the powder dispenser has taken the best of past UK machines and developed on. To access the pump tray you remove the bottom plinth and you have a small drain hose to drain off excess water and then you can unscrew the filter barrell.

The drum had a jetsystem which has two jets providing streams of water from a pump. The first jet is a small eyelet which sprays a wide stream of water over the door glass and keeps it free of any undissolved powder or liquid. The main jet provides a powerfull ploome of water over the centre of the drum saturating the clothes.

The cabinet is a very solid design with locked corners for extra rigity and stability. The ribbed side panels provide extra strength and sound absorbtion. You can see the wide rubber foot on each corner of the rear cabinet, this really does help machine stability.

With the rear cover off we can see that large polycarbonate outer drum, note all the extra mouldings for extra rigidity and stability...

The drum is a split tub clamped together with screws so enabling future replacement of bearings.

The main top control board is housed in a plastic unit which helps avoid any steam damage and condensation !!

The main lower control unit is again house in a plastic box , and we like the use of vents to keep the area cool while avoiding and water splashes should they occur.

It has a lower wattage heater than washing machines of our UK past, but is very efficient in raising water temps with the jetsystem action.

We are using a Sainsburys own brand cleaner made by Dr-Pak a local company which provides salts and cleaners to many manin brands.

Part one of the bottle solution is applied to clean the drum seal and drawer compartment of limescale and crud !!

Part two of the bottle solution is added to the compartment drawer and drum and flush the pipes clean elimination all limescale along the way !!
