LOL cheapo Canadians.. I was feeling insulted but I'm beginning to wonder if it's true. When I put the Braun mixer on ebay I got an email a few days later from some guy in Quebec saying he was leaving shortly for their place in Florida and if I would sell it to him right away for $50? That's the same mixer I got $310 for by the end of the auction. As it turns out the girl who won the auction lives in Vancouver, doesn't have PayPal (but I said I would take money orders in the ad) so now I'm waiting for a certified cheque from her, she wasn't being cheap though, just hadn't bought on ebay b4, but obviously didn't read my pleads to "ask questions please" before bidding. When I started that was the first thing I did was set up on PayPal, in fact from now on I'm not accepting anything but, forget the money orders and shite.
Buying used vintage stuff on Ebay normally you wouldn't pay any duty or extra's for it coming into Canada, especially if the item is built in the USA or Mexico.
Now here's a new one...when I sent that last toaster oven down to the winner in Oregon I took it to the UPS counter as usual but this time the girl said that all electrical items have to have this FCC form filled out and strangely enough only if you were shipping it ground service, not air? So I asked to see their guidebook and it turned out it is only electronic items that can cause interference,, like microwaves, cordless phones, radios etc. Of course being a 19 year old girl, ducking and running, she assumed this was anything you plug in, so of course I held the line up until they got it cleared up with their office. I still don't think she understood the difference. Girls oy.
