Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Hi David,
Thanks for the help with the wiring diagram, not one of my strong points I'm afraid.

So 500rpm FL511 it is then, a rarity for sure.

A rarity for sure

Hi Tom,
Well I'm yet come across one.

If you look at the wiring diagram for the FL511 you will see two circles near the bottom with the letter M in them, these circles denote the Motor. Terminal 1 is a common Neutral, 3&4 are Spin, 5&6 are Tumble so two speeds - Tumble and Spin.
Now if you look at the same circles on the FL811 diagram you will see the first circle (Spin) has an extra terminal 2, this denotes two speeds slow and fast Spin. The second circle (Tumble) has one speed so three speeds in total - Tumble, 400 Spin and 800 Spin.

I hope this makes some sense to you.

David

Ebay November

Hello all

This has been a good month on ebay for the range of machines that have cropped up.
I too would like to add that the basic Zannusi machines i always liked for there honest engineering and functionality, the one near the top of page a freind of mine had for years and years, the only reason he got rid of it was because it had been leaking and this had rotted the rear lower section of the cabinet and it could not stand up any more.

Gary

I contacted the seller of the superb machine below last night to check collection dates. Unfortunately he/she wants the machine collected this week, which i cannot do.

I am gutted as I had got my head around the drive, but I really cant meet the collection date.

Hey ho.

bendix dryer

richard,
i had this model for a little while, until the motor burned out, was given to me by a family friend. I even made a quick video of it. It dried very well and was nice and quiet, it also seemed to hold i lot of clothes for its size.
See link below for video...
Please ignore stupid talking, was one of my first vids

Thanks for that!!, Nice video too, your talking isnt stupid, its always nice to have someone go through what their doing and give ya a bit of an insight LOL :-)

The dryer seemed really quiet too!, Methinks its about time I start persuading mum into bidding, mind u, she knows the White Knight 3kg Dryer is on its last legs :(

Thanks Again!

Richard

bendix dryer

Hello Richard

I have one these in my loft, it is up there because it is the only place i can, A. put a tumble dryer, B. it was the largest one i could get through the loft opening.

It has turned out to be a great little machine, they did three different versions of this, a 5lb load, a 7 lb load and a 9 lb load version, to achieve this they made the drum deeper each time.

I have modified mine with a reversing motor and reversing controller from a white knight tumble dryer. because small drum tumble dryers tangle large items like sheets.

These are really well built and stylish machines, motors burning out is not too uncommon, the problem being a build up of fluff etc around the motor over many years of usage

Thats my experience of one of these dryers i hope this helps you

Arghh no that is a pity to loose that Hotpoint!!!.....I still havent picked up that Hoover yet either......time i need time and space

Cluttered

Hmm at least the Hotpoint front panel is balanced with it's plethora of printed information, whereas the excellent Miele is umm errr........a bloody mess, what were they thinking of it looks so complicated

I agree with Gary re the Miele....they always looked excessively programme fussy.

BLOODY HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A true Quartz dryer - never knew they made one of those.
Thanks for posting - shame its in Essex though - too far away.

A very surprised
