I dunno if they're 86 pounds or not but I've drug 3 of them home and they're near back breakers to grab a hold of and lift. I carted one out of a guys house to the truck, then into my house, up the 6 steps to the kitchen and by then I couldn't even lift it that 1/2 inch higher to slide it onto the counter, that's how awkward they are.

LOL!! Yes those early RR are very heavy. I bought one for $20.00 last Fall and it cost me $90.00+ to have it shipped home. It was in PA and only went to IN ! The box weighed over 100 LBS!

And every pound is worth it!

My RR-700 is extremely heavy, maybe 86 pounds, I cannot carry it very long at a time. The few times I have had to carry it, I have always made sure that the way is clear, and preferably have a helper, or at least a spotter. (Yes!)

Modern microwaves are so light they feel like dangerous toys.

Those Amana RR's weighed a ton, but they were great. Our neighbor and my aunt still have them, and they still run fine. But then again, so does our 25 year old Litton. They don't make 'em the way they used to!
